Vintage
At Adelaide Cylinder Heads, we have over 50 years of combined experience and share a passion for vintage and classic vehicles. We take pride in offering top-notch services for restoring and reconditioning rare and irreplaceable cylinder heads, using techniques like ultrasonic bathing, crack testing, and welding. Our team understands the enthusiasm for these old-school rides and is dedicated to providing the best care for your vintage car components. We also have worldwide contacts to source hard to find parts. Contact us for expert restoration and reconditioning of your cylinder heads and components.
Late Model
Cylinder heads from the 90s onwards are mainly alloy multi-valve double overhead cam, covering petrol, diesel, 4 and 6 cylinders, with a few V8s and cast iron heads still in production. Petrol economy significantly influences the design of these late-model engines, with nearly all heads now made from alloy. Popular for performance modifications, V8 Holden LS heads are one of our specialties. Alloy heads often face issues like head gasket failures, hardness problems due to overheating, and bent valves from timing belt failures, typically caused by lack of servicing. At Adelaide Cylinder Heads, we use the latest equipment, including a NEWEN Contour Seat Profiling CNC Machine, to recondition any style of cylinder heads, and we offer a range of new cylinder kits, providing expert advice and competitive pricing to meet your budget and needs.
Light Trucks - work vans
Every tradie needs a reliable truck or work van, so if you encounter issues with your workhorse, contact us to get you back on the road as quickly as possible. Light work trucks and vans, primarily alloy diesel 4 and 6 cylinders, often suffer from head failure, sometimes at low kilometers, due to high compression and turbo fittings. We cater to both diesel and petrol engines, including those with cast iron heads, ensuring they are crack, pressure, and hardness tested for serviceability. Our competitive range of new alloy and cast iron head kits includes new cylinder heads, VRS gasket kits, new valves, and head bolts. With our fully equipped machine and welding shop, we can recondition and restore your cylinder heads, components, manifolds, and castings to fit your budget.
Diesel - Truck - Car - 4wd
Diesel engines have become popular not just for work trucks and vans but also for family vehicles and off-road 4WDs. Most late-model diesels are alloy and equipped with turbo or superchargers, which create significant torque but also lead to issues like overheating, blown head gaskets, cracking, warping, and corrosion due to high compression. These problems are often exacerbated by a lack of servicing, leading to bent valves from timing belt failures and excessive carbon build-up in the inlet manifold and ports due to strict emission controls. At Adelaide Cylinder Heads, we use an ultrasonic bath to clean parts and remove carbon build-up, and we offer a range of new diesel cylinder head kits, including new heads, valves, gasket sets, and head bolts. We also provide crack testing, pressure testing, vacuum testing, straightening, welding, facing, reconditioning, and restoration services to meet your needs and budget.
Motorcycles -atv
We are increasingly working on cylinder heads for motorcycles, including brands like Harley, Triumph, Norton, BSA, Ducati, Moto Guzzi, BMW, Royal Enfield, Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, and more. We specialize in performance modifications, reconditioning, and restoring these motorbike heads to their former glory, as well as performing unleaded conversions on vintage models. Our NEWEN Seat Profiling CNC Machine allows us to machine small diameter valve seats with ease and perform high-flow race angle modifications and porting for enhanced performance. We also address valve recession issues in dirt bikes with titanium valves by supplying new valve kits and fitting inserts. With our fully equipped welding shop, we can repair damaged, corroded, or cracked heads and components, so contact us if your bike head needs some attention or performance enhancements.
Marine - Inboard - outboard
Outboard marine heads often suffer from major corrosion issues due to the inability to run a rust inhibitor through the cooling system. Our fully equipped welding shop can handle corroded, cracked, and damaged marine heads, components, manifolds, and castings. Using the Newen CNC Seat Profiling Machine and our comprehensive workshop, we can pressure test, weld, recondition, repair, and restore marine heads, similar to petrol car heads. We also address common issues in 2-stroke heads, such as corrosion, blown head gaskets, and damaged threads, and can weld broken or damaged stainless, alloy, and steel fittings, trailers, hulls, and propellers. If your boat or jet ski has issues with its 4-stroke or 2-stroke head, parts, or fittings, contact us to get back in the water and enjoy your water sport as quickly as possible.
European
With extensive experience, we have reconditioned and restored many European heads, including Jaguar, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Alfa, Audi, Fiat, BMW, Mercedes, Saab, Mini, Volvo, VW, SsangYong, Rover, Renault, Triumph, Citroen, and more. We have developed the skills to handle rare and expensive cylinder heads, ensuring our workmanship is second to none. We collaborate closely with specialized workshops in Adelaide and have had great success in reconditioning and restoring these heads. Our CNC Seat Profiling Machine allows us to restore seat angles to OEM specifications or profile seats with high-flow race angles for enhanced performance. With our fully equipped welding shop, we can weld, repair, and pressure test heads made from special quality metals, even tracking down rare parts worldwide. Contact us to take care of your beloved cylinder head and get your sports car back on the road.
